I made a podcast!

I always have imagined what it would be like to be a content creator. I grew up watching lifestyle vloggers of YouTube and by making a Podcast I felt like that dream was becoming a reality quickly.

When I was first tasked with creating a Podcast, I struggled to wrap my brain around a concept that I could talk about for 10 minutes, after thinking about it for a few more minutes the perfect topic came to me why camp is a valuable internship as a college student. Camp Seafarer is an all-girls summer camp in Arapahoe, NC where I have been a staff member the past four summers and will be returning for my fifth summer this year. The picture to the left is from one of my first summers I went to camp for a whole month when I was 9.
So how did I make a podcast?
1. Selected a name. The Happy Season just felt right, I love bringing joy into people’s lives and I hope this podcast can do just that
2. Bring a few guests onto the episode. I recorded with Christie Jennison and Samantha Mayberry via zoom
3. Edited the podcast. This was the hardest part for me, but it taught me a new skill, which including using Adobe Audition to produce my piece.
4. Upload my Podcast, check it out on SoundCloud! The Happy Season

I learned so much during the process of making this podcast. To start I made the logo to the left. I have never done something like this before and am happy to be able to use this skill again. I also fully produced a podcast. This process was much harder than I thought because I had to be critical of the material, I kept in the podcast, but I am very happy with the result!
Because I worked with two people from camp, I will be sending my podcast to them to use for marketing as they continue to hire staff members for the summer of 2022. Because of the skills I gained in podcasting I am sending them a product that I am proud of and I hope to be able to create content like this in the future. I could see myself creating my own podcast about different advocacy topics in the education sphere while making it more like a lifestyle blog so it reaching’s a different demographic.
